My Darlin' Neurons,
I am still busy and hard at work doing lots of everything. Soon, I'll have something wonderful to show you after all of my efforts and the eforts of those that have been helping me accomplish the next phase of evolution.
In the meantime, I was very lucky to talk with two old friends from NYC and LA, the Brothers Gold who are just about to release Adventures Of Power in select movie theatres (http://www.adventuresofpower.com).
In actuality, Ari wrote, directed, and stars, and Ethan wrote and recorded the score and most of the songs. I watched a screener a few nights ago, and while this is a comedy, there are some heartbreaking elements as well. If it gets a viewing in Asheville, I would love to see it on a big screen. I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did.
In other news, I went to see Yo La Tengo with a friend last Monday at our first big show in Asheville at the Orange Peel. I certainly need more albums by such a great band, and that may not even begin to describe them. What they do is beyond any Indie or any other kind of contemporary band I have ever heard or seen. I believe they may be beyond even the sum of their parts, something akin to Raymond Scott or even a Mozart. I was awed and still am.
Go out and see some live music.
RadioMike Loves You All
My Darlin' Neurons,
Asheville has been treating me well. Yesterday I trekked up about seven miles up and back to a community just outside of Asheville to visit a friend and the ride was one of those scenic trips that y'all have heard about. It was tiring in a good way and fun. And last night it was over to a place called Jack Of The Wood to listen to some live Celtic jamming. Ah, I am really enjoying this place. If only I could find a way to survive on an hour of napping.
No extra news at the moment but I am looking for bands to interview in Asheville or via the phone. Get in touch. And support your favorite musicians so they can keep creating the music that we love.
Tonight's interview is with David Nichtern of the Beyman Bros., a band of musicians who have been featured individually and otherwise on several Christopher Guest film soundtracks, and in fact, Christopher Guest is none other than Doc Beyman. This was another one of those great fun interviews.
I hope you are enjoying life wherever you are and it isn't too hot or too cold.
RadioMike Loves You All,
My Darlin' Neurons,
Eventually, I will blog about the wonders of Asheville and what I am doing in it but let us just say that i am enjoying it. Last weekend, last Friday, I took some basic Mambo dancing lessons, and if I can help it, i am going to take some basic dancing lessons soon. Something I should have done a long time ago. We shall see. But I have lots of work to do, even with all of the music I love to listen to. My sense of inner rhythm needs work.
Tonight, my friend, and first intern, Steve Terebecki of White Denim holds court in my latest interview. Enjoy.
My friends, the New Town Drunks have a record release coming up a little south of here, http://www.newtowndrunks.com/live.html You should check them out and go if you are close. You will have fun.
Additionally, Anticlock records is raising monies for one of their talented artists by selling a few limited edition Lps. Anticlock is one of those labels with so much heart and great music that it almost hurts. You know what I am talking about. Go visit their site and throw them some help, http://www.anticlock.net/.

RadioMike Loves You All,
It isn’t nighttime yet, but I do like the night time as much
as anyone else. And nighttime means no
work, lots of friends and love and more music. So I am officially declaringit
an early Nighttime for all of us.
I am still loving Asheville, but I seem to
be getting busier and busier with everything.Somehow, I haven’t learned that trick of organizing and regulating my
time.If anyone has any ideas, please
shoot them my way.My body and mind would appreciate it.
In the meantime, Edison Carter, someone I finally met
before leaving Texas
is up next with his interview. His musical
influences are as eclectic as any of mine or yours. You should enjoy this one.
It’s August, find a lover and find me one and give them a
big hug.
This weekend, I’m off to visit my best friend Marnie, my
godson, and Marnie’s family.I can
hardly wait!
My Darlin' Neurons,
Things are getting good and interesting in Asheville and this makes me very happy. Last week I interviewed Soce The Elemental Wizard for the archives. Patience, I'll have that posted for y'all soon enough. Plus we literally ran into an old friend of ours, Cesco, one ofthe most incredible artists we met in Austin a few years ago. I scheduled an interview with him on Sunday.
Tonight, I finally have the King Orba Interview. Sit back and enjoy.
And in other well deserved plugs of all the great musicians we know, Amber Rubarth is pressing up another great album and she needs help. And like all great promoters, you get something for your thoughtful gifts. Go here and look around, http://www.amberrubarth.com/GoodMysteryCOLLECTORS.html. We gave $25 bucks earlier today. Remember what I confessed earlier this year? I like to give back to those who have enriched my life in one way or another. We all should.
More later. it's going to be a busy week. Hug your best friend.
RadioMike Loves You All and Sends Love and Hugs to MY Best Friend MMPR in the SC
My Darlin' Neurons,
Before I forget and roll into the news, I should tell you that tonight's interview is with Steve Elson. Listen carefully. This is one o fthe good ones we did early in January this year.
Thanks are in order as well. Lexi Street made her goal. More news is here, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lexistreet/lexi-street-music-project-operation-cd-completio, but I should give you all my heartfelt thanks if you gave as I did. I am honoured beyond words.
In other quick succession news, Chuck Schiele new band, Bad Science Fiction, is up for best new band at the San Diego Music Awards, http://www.sandiegomusicawards.com/ Go vote for some band and vote often. Chuck has been doing this music thing for a while and he just crawling with talent. If we can ever meet up and chat, there may be a local San diego music show at some point. We certainly are looking for DJs to cover local scenes for the new site if you know anyone duly deserving.
And back in Austin, my good friend, Ethan Azarian just had a baby (and we are pleased and jealous all at once). He needs to make a few buck and has a gig coming up at the Mohawk, 912 Red River Street, Wednesday August 5th at 10:00 pm sharp. It will be great !!! He'll be telling jokes and the lovely Jeff Johnston will be singing and playing the saw. It could only get better if Ethan came out to Asheville, NC.
RadioMike Loves You All,
My Darlin' Neurons,
Asheville is still wonderful and we wish you all could be here to appreciate it as much as I do. You'll just have to content with my updates until I start blogging again, but you can probably find pictures at AshevilleFM.org where they may have posted more pictures of yours truly as a volunteer. They still needs some major funds and I have already donated. Throw them a few bucks when you can. It's a great cause when you support local radio.
I know you've heard it all before, but we are still working on the new site and when it's good and ready, y'all will be the first to know. The preliminaries are keeping us pretty darn busy.
In the meantime, listen to the interview I did with Mark O'Connor, the Mark O'Connor. He's got quite a history and it was an honor to talk to him even besides the fact that he has studied under some of the all-time greats. Listen and find out.
RadioMike Loves You All,
My Darlin' Neurons,
We'll get straight to the point since we have limited space tonight. Our interview is with Toby of Anomie Belle. This is an artist that is worth checking out and you'll hear them soon enough here.
I also wanted to inform you all of a few news items and good deeds that need doing:
http://www.amazon.com/Elliott-Smiths-XO-33-3/dp/0826429009/ Our friend Gred D was interviewed about his experience recording an earlier version of "Bottle Up and Explode!" with Elliott at Waterfront Studios in 1996. I have a funny feeling this is worth getting and that's another album I Don't have. But soon I will.
Our friend Lexi Street in Atlanta is off and running with a new album, and she needs financing from all of us. Donate to a well deserving artist and get prizes! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lexistreet/lexi-street-music-project-operation-cd-completio
And I've recently become involved in a non-profit radio station start up in Asheville called http://www.ashevillefm.org that needs funding to get rolling. There's lots of wonderful people in Asheville, and I am amazed at what one group of volunteers has set out to do with just a little determination. They just need help to fund a few things. Check it out when you can (And apparently, I am on the front page.)
RadioMike Loves You All,
My Darlin' Neurons,
After a rather interesting ride on the Amtrak and a visit to DC and a grand tour of CNN and the capitol thanks to the always entertaining Paul M., I finally landed in Asheville, NC last Tuesday. Many thanks are due to Paul, Sky, and all of the interesting characters i met on the way.
So far, Asheville is quite a peaceful place, and that's what I need after living in two big cities, one of them the always amazing NYC, where there are a few friends that I dearly miss.
Tonight we bring you another amazing soul, ASTRELLA CELESTE, who has quite an amazing history and future, if you just listen to the latest RadioMike interview at the available link on our front page, http://ww.feveredbrainradio.com. She is also appearing live in a venue near you if you are in Los Angeles. Check it out when you can: http://tinyurl.com/leen4l
And to dearest Epiphany, I will search the Whole Wide World....
RadioMike Loves You All
I have been madly packing and madly working on everything from the day job to the new site to packing for the moving trip to Asheville, NC with nary a minute of breath to pause. I am happy and crazily content all at once. I even received a phone call or two from some very important people in my life who are just as busy or more so than I am. Thank you Mandy, Manuel, and Louisa. Y'all are in my heart, always.
And because I didn't have time to write or post last week and because i won't have time to post this weekend, I am posting two interviews tonight: ARIEL ABSHIRE and BARRY BLISS. Each are from different ends of the muscal spectrum, but each are brilliant in their own right. Ariel is a discovery from Austin who is one to watch, and Barry is an old comrade from the Antifolk scene in NYC. He and his music are worth paying attention to. So take note.
I'll sign off for now, but give to your favorite or most worthy cause when you can. without ourselves, noone is going to support us.
And to my bestest bestest friend wherever you are this week, MMPR, I love you to pieces. The universe is blessed with your joy, and I am blessed to have you around to raise hell. I'm coming home!
My Darlin' Neurons,
Not a lot of time to do much since the end of June is coming up fast upon us, and I am in the midst of preparing or my trip and meeting with everyone before I leave.
This only leaves time to let you know that as soon as we have the new site up and ready for prime time, you will be the first to know. We are getting closer every day.
In the meantime, give to your favorite most worthy charity whether that charity be an individual or not. Everyone has a cause that is worthy to them and to you.
Tonight's interview is with PAUL BRILL who recently composed some music for a PBS show documentary that we had a chance to view while we visited the clan in California. We were quite amazed.
We like interviewing composers and there will be more.
RadioMike Loves You All,
The visit to California has come and gone, and I made it back just a little bit too late so I apologize for not communicating or posting a new interview. The new web site organization is happening, but it's happening slowly. I am doing my best to be patient.
I am also doing quite a few interviews lately before I leave Texas and Austin for Asheville. As you all know, I enjoys these interviews, and I am having fun with them as always.
Tonight's interview is probably way overdue since we recorded it way back last October, but I believe Darren Gaines & The Key Party have recently released a new CD so my timeing may be perfect for once. You should listen and tell them RadioMike sent you.
I also reconnected recently with a good friend on the ubiquitous Facebook, Amanda Laws. She's a filmmaker in New York City attending NYU and doing some darn fine work. She is in desperate need for some financial help to complete her latest film. She has no idea I am posting this here, so tell her we sent you. As you know wih such things, every penny helps. I believe there is a link on the front of the site: http://amandalawsfilms.com/
I'm leaving for California to visit relatives, friends, and comrades on Thursday. I won't be back until next Tuesday night and I will miss you all more than you can possibly realize. Those of you who have my phone number, give a call and let me know how much I am missed. I would be oh so honoured.
In the meantime, at least until the next interview is posted, you can listen to the interview with h/int, the project of Jason Fuller, formerly of an amazing Austin Hip Hop crew known as Vehicular. I hope you will be as amazed as I was or at least appreciative.
I will send your love to Granny and the rest of the clan when I see her.
My Darlin' Neurons,
Tonight's email will hopefully be short. I have ben having productive weeks and days, having met with a graphic designer last Thursday and the rest of the team earlier this evening. Oh, big changes are afoot. I'm happy and excited. I'm also going to visit my Granny, sister, niece and a whole family of friends, as I call them, next Thursday. It's been four years since I last set foot in California and I am looking forward to it.
In the mean time, the Clara Lofaro interview is up for your listening pleasure. Dig in and enjoy. You know you want to. I enjoy these things as much as you do.
And Basya of Pharaoh's Daughter and Rebbe Soul, both good friends, are involved with an umbrella project to raise money to find a cure for cancer. The project is pretty unique and involves also paying tribute to the founders of Israel, the Pioneers. Go and contribute and download a few songs. It's worth every penny: http://pioneersforacure.org/
RadioMike Loves You All
My Darlin' Neurons,
Changes are abound and change is good. This operation has never been a solo one. It has always been one that I enjoyed doing with your help and your suggestions, and once the new web site is up and functional, I won't be doing it alone. I am not really doing it alone now, with a business staff helping me hash out the nitty gritty details of making this all practical and brilliant. I am grateful to all of them and all of you. More than words.
The interview tonight is with AlyssA who is just as charming in person as she is musically. This will be a treat.
Tonight I want to say a brief thank you to all of the Mothers who make this world a better place, especially Jan W, Elizabeth K, my Granny (Where would I be without her!), and Marnie, my bestest friend. I can't wait to visit her and meet her new baby, Tripp. There are no words to describe what I feel in my heart for the world at the moment.
My good friend at http://www.ladyfingers.org has a new album that you simply must listen to and download. Go now.
RadioMike Loves You All
I like doing these interviews. It's my way
of communing with the Creative World around me and to a certain extent
of living vicariously, though I hardly do that except when I read a
intensely elaborate novel. we all do that.
Tonight's
conversation is with someone we have admired since we accidentally
found his musical in a thrift store. Gilbert Hetherwick is an amazing
soul and what's more amazing is that he is an amazing musician who used
to be an amazing Record Company Executive who knew the importance of
the Music balanced with the importance of the Business of all of this.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
And in the spirit of
promoting other good causes as you have all supported and spread the
good word of the RadioMike cause, the wondrous Kiku Collins is raising
money for a good cause. Essentially, Kiku is raising money for a
walkathon to raise money for the National Institute For People With
Disabilities. She's participating the Central Park Challenge. Give
her few bucks and make her a happy bugler.
My Darlin' Neurons,
I forget to send you the links to the shows last time. i have posted them via the front page of the site, finally, but I will also post the Fedburner and Libsyn links below. This will obviously change once the new domain is finished and we turn the page to a new era and close the door on this one. Progress is a wonderful thing!
Tonight's interview is an old discover from our very own beloved former DJ Gemryld Jamson who will have his own interview soon. But tonight's is from the brothers Daily knowncollectively as The Barnyard. They are quite good and quite eclectic. Dig in as soon as you can.
Also, our very good friend Adam Weiner, AKA Ladyfingers, has recently released a link to his new album in Complete form. Listen and download while you can and PLEASE tell al of your friends and donate as you see fit. Adam is one of those brilliant old souls and amazing human beings. Plus, he's a brilliant artist to boot.
http://ladyfingers.org/
And of course, the listen and download link information from the front page of the site: DOWNLOAD or LISTEN to the Show directly via Libsyn.com AT http://radiomike.libsyn.com/. You can also LISTEN directly or SUBSCRIBE AT http://feeds2.feedburner.com/radiomike
Tell your friends that RadioMike Loves You All Almost As Much as His Best Friend in SC
Tonight's interview is with Peter Calanda, a film composer who should be much better known. This will go a short way to do that. This was also a very educational conversation for us. I hope you get as much out of it as I did.
I would also like to explain the links I have posted to the emails over the past few weeks asking for financial angels of any stripe. I have asked for your help for so long and so often and, while help is still needed to get some major changes and a new web site off the ground, I also felt it was VERY important to put my money where my mouth is.
Friends asked for funding to help finish a CD project or two, among others, and while help is sill needed on those projects, I should tell you that though I asked for help on their behalf, I also contributed as I should and as we all should. If we don't help each other, who will help us when we really need it?
So I am extremely late, over a week. I have been overworked with the New Web Site Issues, a computer crash that I brought upon myself, and dealing with learning a whole new computer, this one, and it's idiosyncrasies. You have no idea. Soon, we will be up to speed.
But no excuses. We have two interviews for you, the combined forces of Clepper George And the Wonderful Sarah Sharp. We apparently have a lot of interviews, because these date from almost exactly a year ago. Dig in and enjoy.
Aigner is still looking for some help in creating her new album. Send her a few bucks and make yourself feel good when you hear the new tracks here, there, and everywhere: Go to www.paypal.com and select the amount you can afford to raigner@juno.com.
And the Matthew Show is going to try his hand at the Fundable thing. Go give him your love as well: http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2009-04-02.5635513228/groupaction_view
Do the Right Thing for both friends. We have asked you or help and we may still need that in the future, but now i's time to help so other friends. We all do what we can.
Yes, I am still alive, just in case you were wondering. SXSW was last week and I planned on taking part and enjoying and relaxing with friends visiting the Madness, but alas, I became ill, ill beyond anything you could imagine. Somehow I survived but was tpo exhausted to see any but a few friends shows and do a little hanging out. This is the divine's way of telling me that we are way overdue for leaving Texas. we might be back some other March.
In the meantime, from way back last April, we interviewed author Dominic Smith who has some unique ideas about writing and music. We enjoyed this and you probably will, too.
One of our favorite musicians and extremely talented friends, Sean Padilla of the Cocker Spaniels, is still making some great music and he is willing to do it for you for a very small donation of $25.00. And believe me, it's worth it. I'm going to do it soon, I hope. What he'll write a song about, I have no idea, but I'll come up with something. Now go help him produce another great Classic Album: http://www.facebook.com/inbox/readmessage.php?t=1118798811406#/event.php?eid=67424446413 If you can't read this, let me know.
It's really Greg Lisher Of, but hey, he's still a key ingredient of that wonderful goulash of musical mayhem, so it still counts.
We are in the midst of preparing changes for the new site and the new name as well as the ensuing chaos of SXSW next week and a physical move laster this summer. Could we advertise our ADHD tendencies and more than that?
We'll keep this one short. You've been very loyal and so have we. We are also seeing more and more musicians in need and we have taken note, and we are taking mental notes. Our society has to support the arts a lot more than it does or it will not survive.
ROBIN AIGNER and her several projects of the last few years have always supported RadioMike and we'd like to return the favor. She's raising money for a new project. The catch is, and it's a big catch, if she doesn't raise the full amount needed, show won't take any donations at all.
We have to make sure she collects that full amount. Here is her link and an explanation of the project:
"I'm trying to raise money to record an album. Lots of new songs, and nowhere to put 'em! Seems arts funding is on the ass end of the national budget. I thought of you in particular in this fundraising effort because you have been an enthusiastic supporter of my musical efforts over the years.
I feel a little funny asking for $ (mama didn't raise me that way), but I'm into this whole collective support idea, so I'm giving it a go! The actual costs for making the album will be about $3,500, but I'm looking to raise $2,500, and I will cover the rest. (By the way, this is an all or nothing deal: if I do not reach my goal of $2,500, your money will be refunded.)"
Even RadioMike is giving. At this point in time it is vital that we support each other in our efforts. If we don't no one else will. Give pennies, give dimes or get some merch. All the info is on that link.
RadioMike Loves You All. Now go spread the love around.
Tonight's interview is from a band who traveled down to Austin last year, State Bird. It's a short but illuminating interview, the kind we really like. So dig it.
Maggie Walters, one of our favorites, is performing in a one-time only show in our favorite small city, NYC, at The Bitter End on Bleeker Street at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 4 March 2009. Please go if you are in town. We've heard this is a free show so go and tell her we sent you. There's a flyer for your RSS readers but we will also post this to our web site.
In other news, Joey Alkes of DJ Monkey sent us some sad and good news regarding an old compadre of his, Peter Case. Peter Case recently underwent emergency open-heart
surgery. Peter is not ill and is expected to make a full recovery,
but medical bills associated with this necessary surgery and
recovery are and will continue to be very high. And, like most
talented working artists, Peter does not have medical insurance. Peter needs our help so please donate what you can: http://hiddenlovemedicalrelief.com/ We will soon.
And last but not least, a dear friend of ourJill M. Armsbury - Pendarvis recently lost a well fought battle with Mesothelioma which also hit most of the recovery workers at the World Trade Center. She was a wonderful soul and a great musician. I'd like to see some of my pennies and yours go towards this organization to find a cure. Jill's page is here: http://www.curemeso.org/siteapps/personalpage/ShowPage.aspx?c=kkLUJ7MPKtH&b=3374467&sid=cgLOI1NCKhIQKXPDIqH
My brain has the gears rolling around and grinding so fast that I almost don't have time to stop and breathe. I did have time to respond to an email from our good friend, Glenna Bell who's been busy and will be in Austin during the insane madness that is called SXSW. She is also the subject of my latest conversational chat from a few months back, ACL weekend in fact. So while you are sitting at that desk contemplating working or looking busy, listen to this and decide your fate.
So far your response to all of the immediate future changes in the fate of my little corner of Internet Radio has been overwhelming and positive. I still need to hear from more of you and your friends. It's not a matter of IF we can make this all work for all of us, but HOW. This is key. This is important. This is our collective future.
So tell me what you think when you have a chance to write as I sit here composing the New Musicians and New Media Manifesto or some such thing in my head.
(Per a very convincing email from one of the loveliest voices I know, RadioMike will live on, if you were at all curious.)
For the past several months, with some of your help, I have
been struggling to pay ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC, the Songwriters’ representative
agencies which are also the publishers’ representative of some close friends on
this email list.I have finally
realized, after much deliberation, that you are not seeing even a portion of
the money I have been forwarding to them. This is totally unfair to you, and it is counterproductive to why I
ventured into Internet Radio in the first place:To Promote My Friends. The funds that all of
you, my friends, have donated so far will be used very wisely for site upgrades
and the like.
Some of you may have noticed that all music shows have been
taken off of the site, but the rather entertaining interviews remain. This is to avoid any messy unpleasantness on
the part of the above Publishers’ Representatives. After a little time, the current site and web
site name will be taken down permanently, and a new site will take its place.I have been doing this for almost eight years
now and I don’t intend to stop.The
formats of the shows will change and I am working with some additional DJs to
provide additional programming as soon as possible.
Additionally, there will be an extra step in the
consideration for airplay process.I
will need your personal permission to play your music in the shows and on the
web site. This will be done through a
click-through button after reading a short Agreement Form. This is to cover your behind and mine.In time, I hope to establish an alternative
to the current licensing and fee structure as well as the obvious pay-out
structures. From time to time I may
reach out for advice as I am wont to do.If any of you have ANY questions about this, please contact me and I
will explain as best I can.
In the meantime, I will mention that the JOEY ALKES OF DJ
MONKEY fame is up on the site and you should all go and listen. I may mention
him again in the next email, too.
Another month and another week are upon us and a show is in
the works, but dig in to some Dudley Saunders interview we did a while
back. It’s pretty deep so enjoy. You can find more of him here:http://www.dudleysaunders.com/Tell him we sent you and go to a show or
two and say Hey.
In equally important news, we have received bills due to pay
ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC.This is a very,
very real thing that I have to deal with on a daily and yearly basis so that
the friends and artists that I play on FBR can be paid for their art and what
they do so well when they write the songs you hear. We’ve already raised
$318.00 so far thanks to you and we can pay them a little something for now,
but we still are in dire need to raise the rest.
There’s only $510 to go.We’ve come this far and we are more grateful than you could possibly
realize for all that you have contributed, but we are not finished. Please help us reach the finish line so we
can stop begging and get to the upgrading of the site and seriously come up
with some alternative income generation.
We hate begging as much as you all do, but right now we really
need your help!
It isn’t nighttime yet, but I do like the night time as much
as anyone else. And nighttime means no
work, lots of friends and love and more music. So I am officially declaringit
an early Nighttime for all of us.
I am still loving Asheville, but I seem to

I am still loving Asheville, but I seem to
be getting busier and busier with everything.Somehow, I haven’t learned that trick of organizing and regulating my
time.If anyone has any ideas, please
shoot them my way.My body and mind would appreciate it.

We all made it through 2008, barely, but 2009 is a brand
spanking New Year, and it will be a great one.Something wonderful and amazing is in the air and the vibrations are
telling all of us this is so.Go with
it, let it be and as our friend Sky in Asheville
tells us, Peace. This will be so for
most of us, though there are a few of us who are dealing with a a few violent
conflicts around the world.Let’s direct
our divine energies there and do what we can.
Tonight’s interview is from the The Matthew Show, (http://www.thematthewshow.com).He’s an old friend from NYC and a great one
with some definite opinions that indicate an independent thinkerone of the ones
we can always benefit from more of.He’s
mostly but not always doing shows at http://secondlife.com
so for those of you with Second lives, go check him out.For the rest of us, he’s going to make an mp3
stream available via iTunes and your friendly local mp3 player. Do it if you
have a chance. How often do you get to
listen to a cool live show on the Internet anyway?
In equally important news, we have received bills due to pay
ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC.I have emphasized

basis so that the friends/artists that I play on FBR can be paid for their art
and what they do so well when they write the songs you hear. Thanks to you
(!!!), we’ve already raised $318.00 so far and we can pay them a little

We made it through to 2009 and New Year's eve was cool, wonderful and quiet and exciting spent with close friends in Austin which is amazing however you look at it. We hope you had fun as well. Our good niece spent time with friends playing poker for money, which only proves that the apple doesn't fall far from the family tree.
Tonight's interview is with the Mighty Orq who made a rare visit to Austin a while back. You should enjoy this one as much as I did. You love what we do and you're waiting for the growth of the Fevered Brain Radio Network with as much anticipation as we are. Support us by listening and support our efforts by throwing a few bucks our way.
We still need help to reach $817.00 But we are still having difficulty keeping ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC at arms length until we can raise those funds. This has never been a game, folks. They will try and shut us down if they can until we work out alternative funding sources and the legality of all of this. But until we do, this is what happens. Fevered Brain Radio is FREE for ALL of you. It may not always be completely free. Fees are involved at my end. Do the right thing and donate what you can so that you can continue downloading. Can you help and throw in a few bucks and spread the word? Those that have given from the heart already know how much I am gateful for your help and won't be forgotten. Memorials and monuments are being erected for your future generations.
And those of you in the Los Angeles Area, here is a show you really should NOT miss as Reid Paley, the One and Only explains, "To continue the Inauguration Day celebration in style, REID PALEY, January 20th at THE MINT, 6010 West Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035, 323.954.9400, http://www.themintla.com. $8.00 Cover / 21+ w/ID. Paley is up at 9:30. Just go and raise some hell and represent.
In a special note, if you are out there reading this, please send your warmest and sincerest wishes to our Best Friend Marnie. She needs our most positive vibrational energies to get through her personal trial. Life isn't always easy, but friends and comrades always help get us through this life and next. I'm at a loss for words from here, but your efforts will go a long way to help the healing that must begin. Bless you all. -- Peace, Blessings, And Friendship.

Tonight's interview is with the Pack A.D. and one of our last SXSW interviews. Oh yes, and it's a great one, too. Listen and learn.
And take note that this fund raiser is far from over. We stil need a major blood transfusion of funding.
We've raised $256.33 from a few generous folks and friends. BUT, we still need help to reach $817.00 by December, and it looks like we will have difficulty to keep ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC at arms length until we can raise those funds. This is not a game, folks. They will try and shut us down if they can. We are in transition and we are working out alternative funding sources, but until we do, this is what happens. Fevered Brain Radio is FREE for ALL of you. At this rate, it may not always be completely free. Fees are involved at my end. What's fair is to donate what you can so that you can continue downloading. Can you help?

Tonight's interview is with Sean of The Cocker Spaniels who is one of our dearest friends and an amazing talent. I would even venture to say that though he is not quite undiscovered, more people should get to know him and his music as I have and our old dear friend Jose M. Arguelles who watches over all of us.
We still need help to reach $817.00 by December, and it looks like we will have difficulty to keep ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC at arms length until we can raise those funds. This is not a game, folks. Tonight's interview is with Reid Paley who early on in the world of the Fevered Brain was known as The Patron Saint ofthe Fevered Brain. He still is and has plenty of attitude to spare. You can almost see it during the interview. Oh yes.

Tonight's interview is with Teddy Presberg who was a joy to discover a little while back. Dig in to his music and to the interview.
In further news we still need your help to pay these needed fees by December. If you can spread the word, and tell your friends and contacts, every little bit has always helped in the past and is much needed now.
"Fevered Brain Radio has been alive on the Internet since June 2001. Since that time, we haveundergone several improvements and will continue to grow by eventually adding more DJs, more shows, and more artist interviews. Right now, we make everything available for streaming and for download. However, downloading comes with a cost. The publishers and songwriter's representatives, ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC, demand licensing fees from us so that they can pay artists for our airplay and airplay at many other web sites and radio stations. We are still a long way off from raising the currently needed $817.00 for those licensing fees since we've only raised $212.21 so far. If you can spread the word and help raise those funds I would be eternally grateful."

Seriously, you've been through everything with us in Thick and Thin and
things are going to get better for all of us in this country and
beyond. It has to because the cycles of the the Divine and the
Universe dictate it. But until those cycles improve, we need your help.
We've only raised $202.21 so far towards ASCAP/BMI/SESAC licensing
fees. That means we ONLY NEED $614.79 to get where we need to be by
DECEMBER. Please send what you can and spread the word as often as you
can and help raise those funds. We and I will be eternally grateful.
As you listen to the new The Sleepover Disaster interview from SXSW,
remember everything we've brought you in the past and will continue to
bring to you with your help. Enjoy and donate your appreciation and
tell your friends. Every little dollar will help get us there. We
aren't that far.

We are still, still a long way off from raising the needed $817.00 for licensing fees for ASCAP/BMI/SESAC. But, we have raised over $202.00 so far. Even that helps. Thank you! But please give more and tell your friends!
Things are changing slowly with copyright law, and it may be more difficult for you all to hear good music via the Internet in the future unless you can help. Seriously. Can you give a little now and ask your friends to give a little later? Please? We really can't do this without you help. If you can spread the word and help raise those funds I would be eternally grateful. I, RadioMike love you for this and many other reasons.

And so it goes. We are still here and will be working on a new show as soon as possible. It's going to be a great one and a great month. We hope you are enjoying the latest RadioMike and can contribute a few pennies or dollars soon. We don't like begging any more than you do, but the fact is, that we need the financial help at the moment to keep this going. Once we have that financial plan finished and can solicit investment, things may be a little different.
But we need your help now. Please.
But tonight, we have a major award: The Paul Collins Beat Interview. Just listen now and often and you'll find out. We really enjoyed this one.
Once we get through all of these older SXSW interviews, we will eventually be going to a shorter more compact format for everyone's convenience.
Hope you enjoy.

Not much to say this time out. Lots of behind the scenes improvements are being worked on by the staff at Fevered Brain Central. We've raised a total of $140.00 thanks to Y'ALL. We still have a LONG way to go towards the needed $817.00. send your pennies, dollars, dimes and diamonds. We still need your help to continue doing this and expand it. Seriously, please.
A bit of News, Mark Whitty and Fine Tunes, AKA Dr Jazz in Australia has ALWAYS been a great supporter of Fevered Brain Radio. Few have discovered his music or his wit. He's even turned us on to some great Italian Jazz Musos. We love him for that. Go and check out his site and what he has to offer: http://www.finetunes.com.au/
In the mean time, we've got the Canadian Pop Punk darlin's of Vancougar. in our latest interview. Go check them out.

Another week is upon us and we are fast working on a new show and many other things to create an Internet Radio Network that you all can be proud of. But like we mentioned before, we really cannot do it without your help. Can you sendRadioMike and his music-loving crue a few bucks? Even $5 and $10 will help. Honestly.
And we have a long awaited interview from a good friend, the gentleman behind Ladyfingers. This was another amazing interview that became more even more interesting afterwards. Adam and his lady even dragged me to see the Martin Scorsese Imax documentary, Shine A Light. It was of course phenomenal and since then, Ladyfingers have run off to parts unknown to please music fans everywhere. We miss him and hopefully, he'll be back soon.
In other news, Chuck of the Grams sent us this email: "We've been nominated in 2 categories: Best Americana or Country Performer (They've won two years in a row!) and Best American or Country Recording (For their new CD "Love Factory")." Go vote: http://www.sandiegomusicawards.com/

It's been an exhausting week already but we're back. we're gathering music for the next new show that will hopefully premiere by the end of the month if we have anything to say about it.
In the meantime, we were and are serious about needing help to reach our $817.00 goal to keep the artists' publishers representatives at bay for one more year. We've only reached 1/8th of that goal. Please help us get the rest of the way.
Tonight's interview is a slight varaiation from the standard fare and we crave your indulgences. some of you might appreciate this and others might not so please bear in mind that RadioMike likes to give equal airtime to all points of view. Really. tonight's interview is with David Rovics.

We will be hard at work to bring you another show as soon as we can, but listen to all we've got in the meantime before the site gets upgraded and some of that stuff is no longer available. In the meantime, we have still only reached 121.08 out of the necessary $817.00 needed to pay the fees to ASCAP/BMI/SESAC so they can compensate the musicians you hear on each show. Without you we don't exist, and the musicians don't get their small pittance. Give so that we can give back to all of the musicians that have contributed to the shows that you love so much.
In the meantime, one of those musicians, Deborah Crooks (www.deborahcrooks.com) visited during SXSW and stopped by for a chat. It's all up on the site for y'all now. Dig in, and when you have a chance, visit Deborah's site and visit her links and blogs. She's quite the writer.
RadioMike Loves You All,

Gradually there will be more and more programming from us and from other contributors and eventually, these interviews will be more of a streamlined freeform conversation and a little shorter. Until then enjoy these longer conversations because RadioMike has enjoyed them just as much. Tonight's is from composer, Becky Archibald, a wonderful composer and a wonderful human being who is off in France to study and play some jazz. We are just a little jealous.
And thanks to a few generous friends, RadioMike and FBR have now reached $121.08 towards our $817.00. You don't need to give 'til it hurts, but please give what you can. Out of everyone that you donate to, you know we won't forget and we will appreciate it. And please tell your friends.
And before we forget, here's a link to a music video of Frank Levin's Taraval Street Rag, a tribute to his wild days in San Francisco: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVLRdAD86Mw. For those of you that love Ragtime as much as we do, this should be a treat.
Carry on, listen to the new shows and we'll see you soon.

We are hard at producing a new show for you all, this and every month. It will be done. We cannot survive without your dollars, nickels, and dimes. We’ve only raised $70.00 towards the needed $817.00 due in December 2008. As you know, we “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” and we want to continue to produce some amazing programming for y’all. Send what little you can, even if it’s Five Dollars of your spare change. We can move mountains and raise hell. Just remember that the feathers always add up. Just ask Wiley E. Coyote.
We’ve just returned from Asheville, NC with renewed vigor and we even met some amazing people and some very cute hippies. Life is Beautiful.
In the meantime, we’d like to present a new show, and hopefully a long-term contribution from Frank of Germany, a long time fan of RadioMike:
Welcome to Living Tunes Radio, a new show on RadioMike’s Fevered Brain Radio Network! Living Tunes Radio has a strong focus on music from Europe, including "official" releases not to be found in the US as well as completely independent releases by unknown artists from all over.
I'm planning for at least one show a month, hopefully more often. Although the music of the first show is from all over the place (genre-wise) each future show will have a focus in itself, the next show on music from Eastern Europe, the third on female singer/songwriters from Scandinavia, with the focus always "nested" in a multi-genre-show. It’s going to be fun!
Enjoy listening to the show as did when compiling it.

What with all of the behind-the-scenes machinations here at
RadioMike Central, it has been a little eye-opening to finally realize a few
things. Sometimes, we are honestly a
little slow and need to be beat over the head.
This is one of those times. We
are sorry, we have neglected you. On
that note, we are premiering some new RadioMike DJs in due time and we are
coming back to produce a personal show a month.
You have reminded us that more than ANYTHING else, this is about the
music. We"ve never forgotten about the
artists, but we have let a few things slip by in the short-term chaos.
On that note, our show is in the works and will premier
before the end of the month, every month.
And we’ll have a new European Branch of RadioMike appearing soon, soon,
soon! In the meantime, we actually have
been working hard on those interviews as you know we all love to talk. Tonight’s oh so late in the week is THE
LONESOME HEROES, a local Austin
favorite. Enjoy.
We still are in desperate need of keeping this alive
financially, however, and have only reached about $60.00 towards our necessary
$817.00. Please help and send a few
bucks now before it’s too late.

Since we have that out of the way, we still are in dire need

We are still way short of our goal, having only raised about $60 of the needed $817 to pay for those licensing fees to continue our shows, but we cannot do it without your help. We promise to get some music up there as soon as we can and introduce some new DJs to you all very soon. It's going to happen. We still love you all very much and that love keeps us going daily. Send what you can.
In the meantime, we have a new interview with someone who is more famous with the kids than any of us realized after all of that recognition in the Juno soundtrack. Everyone should have seen it by now. Heck, even our niece, the amazing Sarah, managed to see it. So here is Barry Louis Polisar, one of the many brilliants from that soundtrack.
Enjoy, and say a prayer or direct your positive vibrations to Iowa and our friends up at Clecky Records, The Mod-Est Lads. We hope they are safe, Happy, AND Dry.

ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC.I have emphasized
this is a very, very real thing that I have to deal with on a daily and yearly
basis so that the friends/artists that I play on FBR can be paid for their art
and what they do so well when they write the songs you hear. Thanks to you
(!!!), we’ve already raised $318.00 so far and we can pay them a little
something for now, but we still need to raise the rest.
At this point, that’s only $510.We’ve come this far and we are more grateful
than you could possibly realize for all that you have contributed, but we are
not finished. Please help us reach the
finish line so we can stop begging and get to the upgrading of the site and
seriously come up with some alternative income generation.

Tonight's interview is with Sean of The Cocker Spaniels who is one of our dearest friends and an amazing talent. I would even venture to say that though he is not quite undiscovered, more people should get to know him and his music as I have and our old dear friend Jose M. Arguelles who watches over all of us.

Things are changing slowly with copyright law, and it may be more difficult for you all to hear good music via the Internet in the future unless you can help. Seriously.
